Salty Peanut Crisps

 
 

1 1/2      cups  packed brown sugar


     1/2      cup  margarine or butter -- softened


     1/2      cup  shortening


      2        eggs


      2        teaspoons  vanilla


      3        cups  all-purpose flour


      2        cups  salted peanuts

     1/2      teaspoon  salt


     1/2      teaspoon  baking soda

Heat oven to 350F. Mix brown sugar, margarine, shortening, eggs and
vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients.

Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto lightly
greased cookie sheet. Flatten with greased bottom of glass dipped in
sugar.
Bake until golden brown, 10 to 15 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet.  Yield: 72 cookies.
