Okra and Tomatoes, Southern Style

 
 
 

6 slices bacon


2 cup sliced okra or 1 bag of sliced frozen


1 large onion, finely chopped


6 tomatoes, chopped


salt and pepper to taste


Fry bacon until crispy, drain on paper towel. Sauté okra in hot fat to seal edges. Add onion. Sauté until onion is transparent but not brown. Add tomatoes, broke up bacon,salt and pepper. simmer about 15 minutes.
