Cheesy Mashed Potatoes

2 pounds (5 to 6 medium) potatoes peeled
1/4 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Salt
Ground black pepper

Boil potatoes until tender and drain.
Return potatoes to saucepan adding

butter and evaporated milk.


Mash potatoes until smooth.

 Stir in cheese.

 Season with salt and pepper.


(Chopped green onions,

 chopped parsley or cooked,

crumbled bacon may be

 added to mashed potatoes
