1 stick butter or margarine

2 cups flour
Heat oven to 350ºF (175ºC).

Place these in a bowl and mix well with an electric mixer.
Take out 1/2 cup of mixture to use for topping.
In bowl with remaining mixture in it,
add following and mix until all dry ingredients are moistened:
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

For topping, add following to 1/2 cup of reserved mix:
5 oz. crushed Heath Bars (roughly 1/4" square pieces)
1/4 chopped pecans
Pour batter into prepared baking dish and spread until even.

Sprinkle topping over batter evenly.
Bake about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted
in center comes out clean. Slice into bars and serve.
Makes about 32 bars.
