Peach Cobbler

I made this at The Olde Store ... Always a hit!

1 cup  Bisquick or Pioneer Baking Mix

1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup sugar
1 can (29 ounces) sliced peaches,* drained

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Stir together Bisquick/Pioneer, milk and nutmeg in ungreased square baking dish, 8x8x2 inches. Stir in butter until blended. Stir together sugar and peaches; spoon over batter. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until golden. *2 cups fresh or frozen (thawed and drained) peaches can be used instead. Double Recipe: Make as directed--except double all ingredients and use rectangular baking dish, 13x9x2 inches. High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Heat oven to 400°. Use 1/3 cup butter and 1/2 cup sugar (2/3 cup butter and 1 cup sugar for double recipe). Bake 45-50 min.
