1 lb. each ground beef, ground pork
1 env. (1.25 oz.) dry onion soup mix
2 eggs, beaten
1-1/2 cups dry bread crumbs
to taste: ground black pepper
3/4 cup water
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided use

Heat oven to 350ºF (175ºC).
In a large bowl combine beef, pork,
soup mix, eggs, bread crumbs,
pepper and water. Stir in 1/2 cup cheese.
Mix well and spread half of mixture into a 9x5" loaf pan.
Spread remaining 1-1/2 cups cheese over meatloaf mixture.
Top with remaining half of meat loaf mixture.
Bake 60 minutes.
Let cool 10 - 15 minutes before serving.
