Spicy Fried Chicken

 

3 to 3 1/2 pounds chicken pieces

 

1/3 cup all purpose flour

 

2 tablespoons cornmeal

 

1 teaspoon baking powder

 

1 package (1.0 ounce) Lawrys® Taco Spices & Seasonings

 

1 1/4  Seasoned Salt

 

1 teaspoon paprika

 

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

 

1/2 teaspoons  Pepper

 

1/4 cup butter or shortening, melted

 

2 tablespoons lemon juice

 

Pierce chicken pieces several times with fork.  In large resealable bag, combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, Taco Spices & Seasonings, Seasoned Salt, paprika, cayenne pepper and  Pepper.  Add chicken, a few pieces at a time, to plastic bag; seal bag.  Shake until well coated.  Place chicken in shallow baking pan.  Combine butter and lemon juice; drizzle over chicken.  Bake in 400ºF oven 1 hour or until chicken is no longer pink in center.
