Country Chicken 'n Biscuit Casserole

8 slices bacon, fried, crumbled 
2-1/2 cups cubed, cooked chicken
1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen mixed vegetables 
1-1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided use
3/4 cup milk    
1-1/2 cups biscuit mix
2/3 cup milk    
1 can french fried onions
1 can (10-3/4 oz.) cream of mushroom soup 

      Heat oven to 400ºF (205ºC).  In greased 8x12" pan,
 combine first 4 ingredients and 1 cup of cheese. 
Blend soup and 3/4 cup milk; pour over casserole. 
 Bake, covered, 15 minutes. 
 Prepare biscuit mix, milk and 1/2 can of onions; mix thoroughly.
  Drop by spoonfuls to form 6 biscuits around edge of casserole. 
 Bake, uncovered, 15 - 20 minutes,
or until biscuits are golden brown. 
Top with remaining onions and cheese,
bake another 2 - 3 minutes,
until onions are toasted and cheese has melted. 
 Makes 6 servings.
