Meatloaf with Brown Gravy

Meatloaf with Brown Gravy
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
3/4 cup fresh bread crumbs
1/2 cup chili sauce
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon salt ...
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup green pepper chopped fine optional

GRAVY

2 tablespoons minced onion
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, chili sauce, egg, salt, green pepper, and pepper; mix well.
 
 Shape into a loaf.
 
Place in a baking pan.
 
 Bake at 350 for 1 hour.
 
 While the meatloaf is resting, prepare the gravy.
 
 In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
 
 Add onions; cook and stir until tender.
 
 Add beef broth, salt and pepper simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
 
 Combine water and cornstarch in a small cup; stir into broth.
 
Cook and stir for 1 minute.
