Cornbread Fritters

1 cup each cornmeal, flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
enough milk for stiff batter

       Mix dry ingredients.  Beat eggs, add enough milk to make stiff batter.  Drop from tsp. into deep, hot fat and cook until golden brown.  Drain on paper towels.
